DevLove

Personal space for David Nottingham, videogame creator

About

I’m David Nottingham, a 15 year games industry veteran with design and production credits on games for LucasArts, Rockstar Games and others.

I’ve always been passionate about creating original properties so in 2004 I left Rockstar and founded DevLove, with the goal to take my own ideas from inception to release.

Working with a creative partner, we spent a year pitching an original story-driven action game but ran headlong into many of the challenges facing the industry today, with escalating console budgets making investments in new startups too risky for Publishers.

Every knock back has a purpose, and so in 2007, I joined LucasArts to lead the creative development of an incubation team to create new IP under the (occasional) purvey of George Lucas himself!

I had the best time of my life working with an amazing team and we took pride in our non-descript name of Team 3.  We rebooted LucasArts interest in its own heritage with the development of Monkey Island: Special Edition, and created Lucidity, a puzzle platformer game released on XBLA & PC.

With the growth of digital platforms unleashing a new wave of independent gaming I was once again inspired to go indie.  So after a great 3 years I left LucasArts to strike out once again on my own.

With some good friends and former colleagues, I have founded Dynamighty.  We are a small team creating original games for tablet & smartphone.  Check out the site at www.dynamighty.com to find out more!

Take Care!
